Kraft Mac and Cheese only

We had cereal brought in to work, so I partook, and I swear I just had the best milk ever. I know that may come across sounding trivial or silly, but it was delicious, and I am going to go out of my way to find Horizon Organic Milk from now on, even if it means ponying up a few extra cents to do so.

Selena and I were discussing this topic before we went the grocery store. There are a few food items that I will not skimp on:

  • Peanut butter must be JIF
  • Mayonnaise must be Hellmann’s
  • Mac and cheese must be Kraft

The milk may get added to this list, I need to see how readily available it is.

I’m with you on 2 out of 3, and ironically these are the same issues at our house.

I only do Jif, he only does Skippy.

I only do Helman’s, he does not touch mayo at all.

I greatly prefer Velveeta, but will sometimes join him with his Kraft.

    Right on, no mayo! Blech.

I’ll go both ways with the mac & cheese products, but do prefer regular Kraft Mac & Cheese, if I’m not making my own.

Whole Foods carries Horizon…I’m not sure about the supermarkets.

Horizon is at Whole Foods and at Safeway, I believe. Probably at your big suburban Giants out in Rockville-land, too.

My peanut butter must be Peter Pan, yogurt can be anything BUT Yoplait, ketchup must be Heinz, french onion dip (when I’m not on WW) must be Heluva Good.

I think it’s perfectly fine to have exacting standards! Hey, you like what you like, right?

Greg, I agree with you on the first two. Skippy is a little bit dry for my taste in peanut butter. However, the last one…. I’ll leave you to ponder this. The number 13…..is how many acceptable rat hairs they allow in a box of Kraft Mac and Cheese. Now, doesn’t that make you want to run out and buy a box.

    Greg forgot to clarify.

In Gregland, Peanut Butter = JIF, Mayo =Helmans, etc., etc.

In Selenaland, Peanut Butter = edible, Mayo = edible, etc. etc.

I agree with Stef on Heinz ketchup more than any of the rest of these. But I would be lying if I said my pantry wasn’t stocked with Kraft Mac & Cheese… about 18 boxes. That’s 234 rat hairs, right Joanner?

The company provides. They do all sorts of planned food-related events to keep morale high: chili cook-off, Pizza Day, PB&J day, but they also toss in unannounced freebies like when I walked into the kitchen and there was cereals, milk and bowls laid out, or yesterday, when there was a whole assortment of Little Debbie cakes. Yum!

It’s at most of the grocery stores around here anyway (if not all)… my mom gets it all the time now, but I don’t know that I’ve noticed that big a difference. And I love me some milk!

Oh, and I’m with you on the PB- except your leftover little jar of “Simply JIF” that I inherited was total crap- another food where you should never skimp on carbs!

    I do not eat mayonnaise.

I do not discriminate with my mac & cheese… I love many, many varieties… Velveeta, Kraft, Kraft Deluxe, Ragu, baked, american, extra sharp cheddar… oh, now you got me started : P

Ewww… reasons why Jeff is gross- and sometimes, yes, I will end up discriminating against Kraft : )
