I’ve been posting the past couple of posts, but Greg really didn’t feel like this was his post to create. I know I said I was on vacation but that was before I knew what Greg had in store for the weekend.
GREG PROPOSED!!!!!
We’ll post pictures and videos soon, but the brief synopsis is this:
This past weekend, we have been working at the company Greg helped create, the Delaware Shakespeare Festival. Greg told me he needed me to come up on stage before the show that evening with two other people because it was the birthday of Del Shakes and he needed me to say a few words about the education programs and things. After grumbling and complaining all day, (I reeeeally didn’t want to do it) I stood on stage, read off my cue cards and was getting ready to dart off when Greg said, “No, I need your help for this next part.” He went on to explain our relationship to the audience and proceeded to ask me to marry him in front of the largest Del Shakes house ever (338 people!). I was crying too hard at that point to say yes, but it was already assumed. The crowd went wild and we heard reports of a standing ovation. Back in the wings, I was surprised to see my close friends who came into town just to be there. Most of Greg’s family had no idea and they rushed over to me and there was a mess of tears and cheer. My own family had been in on the plot from the beginning, but because of certain circumstances, were unable to be there. They called with their own congratulations later on.
We are overjoyed and will certainly be posting more soon!
Hey, Selena and Greg! Congrats! I was so excited when I heard that I needed to try to come up to the Del Shakespeare Festival because there was a BIG surprise in stored. Sorry I couldn’t make it, but I’m so happy for you both!
Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! Another Asian in the Robleto clan! Woohoo! Our kids will be the only ones that will resemble each other! haha! I am so excited and happy for you two!
Oh my gosh! That’s the greatest story! I love that he asked in front of the entire audience. I am so excited for you guys!!!!! When you get back into town, we definitely have to get together and toast this great news.
