Selena was writing up some pages about her design history for an RFP she’s trying to win. She asked me to edit it, and I ended up reworking major sections for her. She called me today saying she wasn’t going to use my changes because as she put it:
It didn’t sound like me. I don’t usually use big words, spelled incorrectly, like you do.
Good luck on that RFP!!!!
LOL! Indeed, it’s better to use more common words which you know you’re going to spell right.
Selena,
You could always use Mike for your editing.
Or me… though most of my experience has been tearing my hair out proofing Greg’s work : )
What is an RFP? (Yeah, probly don’t want to use me then!)
p.s. I used only a single space before my parenthetical- just for you!
RFP = Request for Proposal, it’s common for freelance work for clients that have their act together.
In my defense, I never masked that I was a good editor, especially when it comes to editing my own work.
The one aspect of editing that I do well is reading from the perspective of the audience, and providing solutions that will maintain their interest and keep them reading.
oh, okay- cool!
Well, good luck, Selena : )
