Greg and I were watching Justin Timberlake’s return to SNL and Greg commented that he may be one of the best things that has happened to SNL. Before you dismiss this idea and JT completely, watch what happened in 2006 that has become one of our favorite skits of all time.

Anyone else get the feeling that Timberlake brings to each SNL performance a certain level of energy that other guests just don’t? In recent years, SNL has just become another stop on the media chat junket (if you have a movie out, you do SNL). Everyone walks through the paces, hits their marks and reads their cue cards. I don’t know whether Timberlake brings his ideas to the writers or they feel like they can unleash their crazier stuff or what, but the Timberlake episodes are, in my opinion, a highlight of recents seasons for their vivacity and creativity.
I am thinking about this WAY too much.
It reminds me of when Alec Baldwin was an SNL staple. It didn’t matter if he was doing a movie or not – he came to SNL and he delivered!
I haven’t seen 30 Rock yet, I’m waiting to catch up this summer. But I hope he brings it on that show, too.
His work on SNL is quite exceptional, “D*** in a Box” remains one of the funnier sketches on SNL in recent memory. However, he is still a man-bander that wants to bring “sexy back”. How did you lose sexy JT that you need to bring it back. Your “sexy” is something you should never misplace.
