Waking the Giant

I thought Selena was difficult to wake in the morning, but she’s got nothing on the J. Seward Johnson’s “Awakening” statue. This sleeping giant has been in the process of rising from its Hains Point earthen bed for 27 years and appears finally ready to get up, with a little help. The new DC Harbor project is going in at the end of the peninsula, so Awakening is being moved across the Potomac in Maryland.
