In response to the National Weather Service’s announcement that there are expected to be a higher percentage of named hurricanes this fall, we took some measures to insure our wedding will be a success, most literally we insured our wedding.
This is a completely new concept to me, wedding insurance. The company we went with WedSafe, will actually insure the wedding in case of weather-related cancellation (such as we are worried about), but also in case one of us falls ill, or a parent or best man is unable to go, or if one of us loses our jobs and we can no longer afford the wedding of our dreams. It costs a few hundred to be insured for a few tens of thousands (likely because these policies are very rarely cashed in).
If everything goes right, this will go unused, but it won’t be money wasted, because for the next four months we’ll have the piece of mind of knowing that even if the hurricane rains start coming down, that we are covered.
That’s a good idea. Congratulations on your new insurance!
: )
The rain this weekend was from the second storm already this season.
This reminds me…Coconut Cove told me I could sue your insurance co. if we have to cancel due to a hurricane.
Happy planning!
