As soon as I finish typing this we are throwing the last of our bags in the car and getting on the road. We are heading as far as Jacksonville tonight (we hope) to make for an easier second leg of the trip tomorrow down the Florida coastline into the Keys.
The thoughts that went through my mind this morning as I went for coffee was the scale of this event. As we’ve been so busy planning our end and getting our car packed I had lost sight of the reality that there are 93 other people about to do the same thing in order to be with us this weekend. Our friends Helen and Bobby are already in Key West. My dad is packing up his car today and starting the drive. My mom and Selena’s dad are both delegating at their respective workplaces since they won’t be back for nearly a week, and another 90 or so people following suit, working their last couple of days before hoping in a car or on a plane to take a weekend getaway in the sunny Keys to be with us, to watch Selena walk down the aisle and to hear the I do’s that are nearly nine years in the making.
We are minutes away from heading out. First stop, more coffee and breakfast sandwiches, then to the cemetery to pay respects to Ms. Kang, and then onto the open road. Next stop Florida, and we’re not coming back until we are married.
Good Luck and congratulations!
Finally! Wish we could be there but I’ll be here at work plugging away. Congrats! Now you can use those presents!
Yay! Congratulations (I’m sure you won’t read this till you get back, but whatever : )
I prepared by calling out sick on Mon. due to the lingering exhaustion and mutilation of my sleep pattern… and the fact that I had another late night event to attend that night. Cursed growing old and not being able to handle wild bachelorette party fun! And, oh, was it fun…
Anyway, now I just have today and partial day tomorrow of work, and lots of planning and packing in btw. and then we’re off as well! I can’t wait… and I’m very happy also to realize that the presents will soon be put to good use : )
I think it’s very sweet and special that you made a visit Selena’s mother before setting off on your journey…
Safe driving, and when you actually get this- welcome home, Mr. and Mrs. Robleto!!
Wow, you guys are driving down instead of flying? What happens to your car when you guys fly out to your honeymoon destination?
I’m excited for you guys and I’m looking forward to the wedding weekend.
BTW – Thanks for helping me to check off a location on my ‘want to visit’ list. I’ve always wanted to check out the Keys.
I hope it’s the most wonderful time of your lives. Congratulations!!
The wedding was PERFECT and Bobby and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world!!! We love you guys!!
Ditto, Helen- congratulations to you both… everything was just so beautiful!!
I couldn’t believe how they transformed that place (not that it was a dump or anything beforehand : ) but as I sat down for the ceremony I just couldn’t stop exclaiming about how beautiful it all looked. Perfect.
And everyone associated with the resort was so nice and friendly and accomodating… I’m sure you’ll have tons of compliments to pass along to Paul and Magda!
Hope you’re having a wonderful time, and can’t wait to reminisce about the awesomeness of this week once you get back : )
Congratulations again — so sorry we couldn’t be there with you! Enjoy married life
Greg and Selena,
Your wedding was probably the best one we’ve ever attended. We had so much fun! Never have I spent the whole reception on the dance floor!
The place, food, people were excellent. Every detail was perfect. Hannah still can’t get over it. We are just about to look through the pictures…Again!
Take care and can’t wait to see you at Danaher Christmas.
Love,
Judy
Ps. Can I get you list of songs that you played?
