Here are a few “outtakes” from photo shoot day. The art director in me never rests. Even with our final “glamour shot,” what you don’t see is through my smile, I’m saying through gritted teeth, “Greg, look up. Shift your focus. Look down. Dean, closer. Dean, back up. Greg, stop laughing. Greg, stay still. Stop giggling. Greg, pretend you just witnessed genocide.” Followed by, “Okay, now let me see what that looks like.”
Greg was a good sport through it all. At a break, he commented, “Wow. I’ll bet this is how movies like Braveheart get made.”
(On a side note: Even right after the picture was taken, Greg said, “Okay. I don’t think this is how I would have actually reacted if I had just witnessed genocide.”)
For the record, the middle picture of the three is my reaction to “just witnessed genocide” and in retrospect, I probably should consider toning down the wonder, and try being more appalled and disgusted in that scenario.
