Our growing TV addiction

After being out of town all weekend, we caught up on the latest three episodes of our favorite shows all at once. All very different shows that were just delightful to watch in succession one after the other: Prison Break (season finale), Lost and Gossip Girl (rerun).

Three explosive hours of TV and I came away with the conclusion that the single best moment in these three hours is (SPOILER ALERT) Michael Scofield driving his elbow through the display case in the antique museum and outsmarting a bunch of bad guys, topping anything that happened in Lost, also a great episode. Second favorite moment in the tri-athelon was Kate asking Jack “How do you know Locke won’t (kill) me?” To which Jack replies, “Because Sawyer won’t let him.” This, and the Gossip Girl addiction was an indication that I am starting to become a girl. When I shared my second favorite moment to Greg, I think he pointed and laughed. (SPOILER ALERT OVER).

Sadly, this week’s Gossip Girl** was the weak link, as I seemed to enjoy the previous episodes more. This show is not actually anywhere near the top of Greg’s favorite shows list, but he “suffers” through it for me. There wasn’t even any material for Gossip Greg. And while I thought I had kept this in my head, I realized I did actually verbalize absent-mindedly, “I wonder who would win in a mud-wrestling match, Michael Scofield or Sawyer?”*** To which Greg replied, “You are starting to sound like Bret Michaels from Rock of Love 2.” And I thought, oh, I said that out-loud? And then I thought, oh, we missed Rock of Love 2 this week too.

After Prison Break off the Tivo in the living room, we moved into the study for the second feature (Lost) on Greg’s laptop. Finally, the last showing (Gossip Girl) was on the DVR TV in the study. And THAT is just plain sad that we now need at least three devices now to keep up with our TV watching.

** Greg is convinced that Chuck is Gossip Girl.

*** I think Michael Scofield would just let him win though. Apparently, Wentworth is dating Luke MacFarlane from Brothers and Sisters.

This begs the question- what were you before?

On a separate note, this popped up on the sidebar here as one of the “Sponsored Links” from Google…assuming that they’re somewhat related to your site’s content, does this tell a bad story?

I would let Sawyer win in a fight…. but I’d struggle a little bit, just for the rolling-around part. :-)

Kitty, I’m trying to resist all media “girl,” but I think I’m breaking down in my old age.

    Gossip Greg here:

Spotted S opening a blog post with the words “Our addiction” and following those words with photos of four men posing sexy-like. Don’t you mean “your addiction” S?

Where are G’s addictions? Don’t tell me G can’t find any just because the hottie from Prison Break was decapitated (eww), LOST is lacking eye-candy, Gossip Girl is completely jailbait, and the ladies of Rock of Love are by and large bi and large.
