I recently put up a post about our living room in disarray, acting as storage for all of Selena’s boxes. My brother, Jeff, noted that we hadn’t actually addressed on the blog all the work we’ve been doing to fix up our living room in the past six weeks, including painting, new furniture and new décor. He sent over these before and after pictures.

Wow! It’s like you did your own Trading Spaces! I like the more grown-up, “we actually make some money now” look. I’m still working on mine. :-)

And it’s pretty easy to tell what must be Selena’s favorite color!

It may be a bit too conservative for Trading Spaces. Their designers tended to go nuts like gluing straw on the walls – except for Vern, he was awesome. He’d have liked what we did.

(BTW, did I ever mention that I went to Penn State with Amy Wynn (the other carpenter) from Trading Spaces. We were close friends for much of college, but lost touch sometime around graduation, before she became a TV star.)

That looks really nice – I love the color.

And I’m a total Amy Wynn fan.
