Back in April, when my brother and friends were visiting and we went to the Natural History Museum, Selena metro’d into town to meet us primarily because she wanted to see the butterfly exhibit. Sadly, we dawdled just too long at the Hope Diamond, and by the time we got over to the exhibit it had closed early for a private party.
We were all very disappointed, as you can see…

…because we thought it was a temporary exhibit and going away. Last week we found out we were wrong, it was still there. So, Saturday as we were on the Mall anyway for the Book Festival, Selena and I made the detour over to the Museum to see the butterflies. It cost an extra $6, but it was a pretty cool exhibit, and made for some great up close pictures:
My favorite part though, was the signage before we entered. Just fantastic.

I love the signs! There was similar sign in San Diego…don’t point at the sea lions…DON’T POINT!!!! Love it.
They must have thought that Duke was coming to the exhibit…
Haha! Those signs are hilarious.
I was thinking of turning the one of the guy stepping on a butterfly into a tee-shirt for Duke, ya know, since he hates butterflies. You think he’d wear that duckie?
Yes, he absolutely would!
Hitchhiking butterflies? Great, a new element to add to my phobia of flying things!
Kathy is so sad she is hiding behind me…
I do not hate butterflies…I just want the US government to put the millions of dollars they spend on protecting them to better use.
