As I walked into work, passing the deli, I wondered what I would have for lunch. Then I remembered I brought lunch. THEN I remembered I brought lunch as far as onto the Metro… but not back off.
“Is that your bag?” That may be heard a lot today on the red line, because under a seat in the first car of a train is a bag with a Styrofoam container of Chinese food (Mago Tofu and Sweet and Sour Chicken).
I’ve never forgotten anything on the Metro before. I am glad that if I am going to lose something it will be as disposable as leftover Chinese.
What have you ever lost on the public transit?

Ewwwww. Hope it’s found before it gets stinky! I’ve lost umbrellas and gloves.
Um. I remember once you “lost your lunch” on the metro before…just not so neatly packed in styrofoam but it surely looked like chinese food.
O. and I just clicked on the add next to this box..Chinese Take-Out Boxes…I hope the 0.02 cents you make off of it helps offset the cost of lunch today.
No comment? J/k!! I am not gross like those Gossip Girl kids!
Come to think of it, I’m not sure I’ve ever left anything on the subway or any other form of public transportation. I usually clung pretty tightly to my enormous bookbag and whatever else I was carrying on there- mostly due to lack of space, or as a personal shield (due to lack of space.)
This is rather surprising given my forgetfulness… probably left stuff on the school bus all the time, but I can’t remember what that was. (Forgetful! : )
Oh my God. I left my PURSE on a train one morning, cuz I was reading and was so engrossed in my book I just got up and got off the train and left the purse sitting on the seat next to me. I knew it instantly, cuz my Smart Trip card was in said purse and as soon as I got off the train and couldn’t get out I knew the horror of what I’d done. I went right to the Metro agent desk, a little panicky, and they called the train operator and the operator at the next station. Turns out some very nice person had seen that I’d left it, and took it with them off the train and turned it in at the very next stop. I Metroed there, and picked it up at that station office. The person had left a little note, but no name so I couldn’t thank them. But – wow – I’ve never done that again!!!
