2008 Turkey Day Broadway Previews

Posted by: Greg

I liked to watch the first hour of the Macy’s parade, because it’s a rare opportunity to get a free sample of what’s playing on Broadway. Here’s my take on this year’s shows:

In the Heights

Not sure what to make of this one. Yes, they were in the Heights, where … [ more ]

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Years ago, Eat With Me showed me the true meaning of Thanksgiving.

Now it is my favorite holiday, and I channel Scotte as the day approaches.

It’s our first time hosting together for a party of 12. See if you can guess the theme.

Here’s the menu:

Holiday Ornament Swap 2008

Posted by: Selena

My co-worker convinced me to join the Holiday Ornament Swap this year. I was really excited to get to do it. 10 handmade ornaments for 10 people, and I get 10 back. To which Greg responded, “Cool! Does that mean we get ornaments to give away as presents?” I just … [ more ]

So glad to have HBO in my draft

Posted by: Selena

We had been toying with the idea of giving up HBO, since all we cared about, really, was Flight of the Conchords.

Then I discovered True Blood.

With the season finale approaching on Sunday, I was somehow able to watch all 11 episodes in three days, staying up many a night until … [ more ]

As I write this Selena is in the other room completing the chore that she earned at the last weigh-in of our Biggest Loser challenges.  We have been back at the competition for two weeks now, and I have won twice. Selena was discouraged, so I let her in on … [ more ]

TV Channel Draft

Posted by: Greg

One of my favorite online columnists, Bill Simmons at ESPN, suggested the idea of a TV Channel Draft. The idea is if you can only watch shows from a set number of channels, and they are exclusively yours, which chanells would you choose. The selection is done via … [ more ]

Europe by Food

Posted by: Selena

While Greg loved the sightseeing experience, my main goal was to become a mini Anthony Bourdain protege and eat my way through the continent. In the process, we inadvertently stumbled upon a great new purpose for our travel buddy which someone appropriately suggested we name “Manja!” Guess what country we … [ more ]

Our European Tour

Posted by: Greg and Selena

Many students fresh out of college go to Europe and tour around finding themselves before coming home and settling into a career. Selena and I took a different approach and waited until we were well settled into our careers before taking some time to see what all Europe had to … [ more ]

Shows we continue to run towards

Posted by: Selena

Gossip Girl-Gossip Girl never ceases to be the source of endless joy for us. To the point where Greg is reluctantly, but openly admitting he likes it. Supplemented by the Daily Intel’s brilliant recaps of the show? Perfection to the point where I get giddy.

The Tudors-Wow. It just makes sense … [ more ]
