A homemade bomb went off at one of Cairo’s major tourist attractions, the Khan el-Khalili bazaar. One woman was killed and 21 others tourists were injured. This is the scene where the bombing occurred.

And this is a picture I took of Selena in that very spot just six weeks ago.

Yikes. We were in that same market, doing the same thing – being tourists – and we weren’t on the alert for any acts of violence. We were on the alert for good prices on souvenirs.  It’s really haunting knowing it just as easily could have been us. Our hearts go out to those student tourists and their families.

    Yikes. Very sad indeed.

If everyone could have a 64 color box of crayons and M&Ms, I think we would have world peace.

That is so scary and sad. It’s amazing that for all our problems, we do get to live in a country where we don’t have to feel that fear every day. It’s something we take for granted, for sure. I am sending my positive vibes for world peace as much as I can.
