Greg and Selena

This blog is where Greg and Selena express their interests, share what they've discovered and engage with friends and family. Enjoy, and please leave a comment on the post below.

Who wants to win a free tee-shirt from Greg and Selena?

So, while in SXSW I embarked on this game to find the blue hippo (not a euphemisum). I never actually found the hidden hippo, but I did find Kelly, the lady from Smart Hippo who was hiding the plush hippo doll each day and told her that I really enjoyed the hunt.

I suppose sincere praise was a whole lot like winning, cause I got a sweet gift card out of that toTeeShirtOutlet.com, which is awesome. Only problem is that I can’t decide which of these funny screen-print tees to get.

So I ask you the visitors of our blog to suggest which of these shirts available I should get for myself or for Selena. Help us decide by visiting www.tshirtoutlet.com and browsing around.  Find the best shirts write it’s name / description in the comments here on our blog.

In a few days we will decide who made the best recommendations, and whoever picks the best choices for Selena and me, can also pick out a shirt for themselves as well, on us, thanks to our friends at Smart Hippo.

What are you waiting for, let’s get some tee-shirts: www.tshirtoutlet.com

UPDATE: This contest will end at midnight on April 1st (or is that April 2nd, I should have chose a time other than midnight).

I also vote for the ‘don’t turn your back on a cactus’ and ‘your brain runs on dial-up’

There are so many shirts, its hard to pick just a few. The only thing was some are only for women, so I didn’t know if you wanted one design for the two of you or one for each.

    - I have 2 choices for Selena, an ‘in your face’ choice and a conservative choice:

    1. In your face choice – The Simon says you suck T-shirt – http://www.tshirtoutlet.com/lh33.html
It’s a picture of the classic Simon game (4 colored panels, have to hit them in order) with the text “Simon says you suck”. I thought that shirt was a good combination of an old-school reference and an unexpected funny, inoffensive insult. I thought it was laugh out loud funny. I liked this shirt more than any other shirt on the site.

    2. Conservative choice – Text Smile Women’s T-shirt – http://www.tshirtoutlet.com/7691.html
It’s just a text smiley face on a light yellow background. I liked the simplicity of this shirt and I thought this concept fit Selena pretty well. It’s a shirt that sends a friendly, happy message and makes a reference to communicating that message in electronic shorthand – the text smiley face. Simple, timely, and something that you can wear regardless of company.

    - I have 2 choices for Greg, a pop-culture choice and a punny choice:

    1. Pop-culture choice – The Office: Schrute Farms Beets T-Shirt – http://www.tshirtoutlet.com/9579.html
It’s just a grey shirt with the text “Schrute Farms Beets: Available for Weddings”. I don’t usually like pop-culture shirts, but I liked this shirt because it made a reference to a funny, popular show, but it’s not an obvious reference for anyone that isn’t familiar with this show. It doesn’t have a picture of Michael Scott or any of the other Office characters. I think that the subtly of the reference is what makes it cool and I think it’s also what makes it possible to wear this shirt when The Office is over. The quote by itself is kinda funny. (Ever remember seeing people wearing t-shirts with pictures of Bart Simpson and a reference to doing the Bartman or Cowabunga? Cool briefly, but that coolness faded quickly.)

    2. Punny choice – Gnome more Mr. Nice guy T-shirt – http://www.tshirtoutlet.com/9177.html
It’s a picture of garden gnome holding a gun with the text “Gnome More Mister Nice Guy”. Greg likes puns and there is something inherently amusing about the image of a small, harmless garden gnome holding a machine gun. (Mildly amusing, but amusing nonetheless) The site had some funnier shirt choices, but most of them had an offensive/obvious/or over the top tone to them, and I couldn’t picture Greg actually wearing some of those.

If I win, I’m torn between the “Jesus is my Homie” T-shirt http://www.tshirtoutlet.com/eb309.html, and the “Now you done it: You flashed the wrong gang sign to ty Homies” T-shirt http://www.tshirtoutlet.com/4041.html
