There have surely been times when Selena or I have sworn like sailors, so it would be hypocritical to say there are too many words that we consider taboo, but there is one that we both find incredibly demeaning and will speak up when we hear it used inappropriately. That word is “retardâ€Â.
Yesterday, the Special Olympics started a campaign to Spread the word to end the word encouraging us all sign this online pledge to eliminate the casual offensive use of the r-word.
