Last night, Selena and I had the opportunity to attend the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Gala that included giving the Will Award to Sir Ian McKellan. It was a rare treat to get to see him speak in person, and when he stepped away from the podium and recited lines from Shakespeare it was absolutely inspiring.  He is one of the most brilliant actors of his generation and writing about his performance last night gives me a justifiable excuse to embed one of our favorite clips from “Extras” where Sir Ian explains acting.
