Travelling to the Keys

The wedding party is arriving on Thursday, October 4th and staying through until Monday October 8th. We encourage you to join us for as much of that time as you can. The wedding is at sunset on Saturday, October 6th.

Flying into Miami

Miami (MIA) is going to have the most flights from the Northeast, and is the closest mainland airport. As of April 27th, a flight to Miami from Philadelphia was $147 and from DC was $163 round trip (according to Kayak). Miami is two and a half hour drive from our wedding destination in the Keys.

Flying into Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale (FLL) is directly north of Miami, which adds approximately a half-hour to the drive, but the airport is smaller with a better reputation. As of April 27th, a flight to Miami from Philadelphia was $163 and from DC was $162 round trip (according to Kayak). Fort Lauderdale is just about three hour drive from our wedding destination in the Keys.

Flying into Marathon

Marathon (MTH) is a very small airport in the Keys. It is only 35 miles from Islamorada, but flights into Marathon are much more expensive than the mainland airports. As of April 27th, a flight to Miami from Philadelphia was $510 and from DC was $380 round trip (according to Kayak). Marathon is about a half-hour drive from our wedding destination.

Where to Stay

The Keys are typically divided up to subsections: Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon and Key West. For the wedding, we strongly encourage you to stay in Islamorada, between Mile Marker (MM) 80 and 90. Here are our suggestions of where to stay for the weekend:

Pelican Cove Resort

Just down the road from Coconut Cove, this resort is has a private beach, a tennis court, pool, saltwater lagoon, cabana bar and café, marina, water sports and fishing charters.

There are 63 traditional rooms and suites, some that include Jacuzzis. The rooms have a price range of $105 - $265. Pelican Cove does take credit cards payments.

There is not a block of rooms to pull from, but there are an ample number of rooms available. Please let the staff at Pelican Cove know you are reserving for the Robleto-Kang wedding.

Coconut Cove Resort

This hidden gem in the Florida Keys is not on the map unless you are looking to hold a wedding. Coconut Cove is a seven acre estate on the ocean. There is not a on-site restaurant / bar, but there is a lavish pool and a location for the wedding and reception. We are taking over the entire resort.

There are twenty rooms, most with a queen bed and a single, some with two queens and a single. Rooms have a range in price from $115 - $175 a night. Coconut Cove takes payment by personal check.

Gift Registry

We have been to a lot of weddings where we've had a difficult time or been unable to discover where the couple is registered. So, please pardon if this is a breech of etiquette, but we wanted to reveal where we had fun shooting the laser gun all around the showroom.

We don't understand why there's isn't a store in Delaware, but the online version is robust. Crate and Barrel provides upgrades for household items that have been with us since college.
